NOTE => Call or stop into the Help Desk portion MUST be done on phone or in person - NOT via request in ticket/email. We must speak with you! Phone: 607-746-4835

Option 1: Do you have a tablet or an old phone with wifi?

You can use Microsoft Authenticator App

  1. Download the Microsoft Authenticator App
  2. Call or stop into the Help Desk. We need to reset your MFA methods.
  3. Go to this page: Article - Student Password and MFA Setup
    1. Follow directions starting at To set up the Microsoft Authenticator app
      1. 'Cell phone' is this tablet or old phone

Option 2: Do you have a laptop?

You can use Google Voice - For this you will need a G-mail email address and someone with a phone for a one time message to verify you are human. That phone number will not be needed again after you complete that step.

  • To setup Google Voice:
    1. Follow the instructions in this article: MFA - Setting up Google Voice
    2. Once a phone number has been created, call or stop into the Help Desk for us to add this number to your account.
  • To authenticate, have Google Voice open in your browser and choose that number for either a call or text.

Option 3: Don't have any of the above?

Contact the Help Desk at 607-746-4835

  • CIS can loan you an authentication token. This is a small device that will display a numeric code for you to enter when authenticating.
