Student Password and MFA Setup Help

MFA (Multi Factor Authentication) is required, we've included instructions to help with setup.

Instructions:

Password Change from Default Password

  1. From the SUNY Delhi homepage (www.delhi.edu), click Webmail to open your Delhi email
  2. Enter the full email address as the username.
  3. Your password is on your acceptance letter.
  4. You should be prompted to update your password.  (Minimum requirements are not posted here for security reasons).

Login

  1. From the SUNY Delhi homepage (www.delhi.edu), click Webmail to open your Delhi email
  2. Enter the full email address as the username
  3. Enter your password

Password Reset Registration

After changing your password, you will need to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and complete the Password Reset registration. 

  • You must register 2 different methods (ex: Authenticator app and a phone number)
  • Follow the prompts to confirm or verify these methods

To set up the Microsoft Authenticator app

⇒ NOTE: You will need both a cell phone and a laptop or computer to complete these steps.

Start by downloading the Microsoft Authenticator app from either the Google Play Store or the Apple Store on your cell phone. 

  • The app icon should be a blue lock with a lighter blue person inside: 
From a laptop or computer:
  1. Log into your email. You will be prompted that "More information required", Click Next

  1. Select Next, and follow the instructions on the screen. STOP when you get to the screen with the QR code. On your Phone (or device using for Authenticating)
From a cell phone:
  1. Open the Microsoft Authenticator App
  2. Press the three vertical dots
  3. Select Add an account
  4. Select Work or School
  5. Use QR code option
  6. Using the Authenticator App, scan the QR code on your computer/device
  7. Continue the steps on computer and phone to link your Authentication App to your Delhi email account

New phone? In Microsoft Authenticator, delete SUNY Delhi entry. Then follow steps above to reconnect to your account.
