MFA - Setting up the Microsoft Authenticator App

Description:

The Microsoft Authenticator app can be used as a quick and secure method of MFA verification.  The easiest way to complete this setup is having both your phone/device AND a computer/tablet for the setup.

Instructions:

Part 1. On Computer or other device:

  1. Go to http://aka.ms/mfasetup
  2. Click 'Add sign-in method'

  1. Choose 'Authenticator App'
  2. Follow instructions on the screen
    1. You will be using the QR code, stop when you have that on your screen and go to Part 2

Part 2. On your Phone (or device using for Authenticating)

  1. Install the Microsoft Authenticator app from Google Play Store or the Apple Store 
    1. The app icon should be a blue lock with a lighter blue person inside: 
  2. Open the App
  3. Press the three vertical dots
  4. Select 'Add an account'
  5. Select 'Work or School'
  6. Use QR code option
  7. Scan the QR code on your computer/device
  8. Continue the steps on computer and phone to link your Authentication App to your Delhi email account
