Teams - Install - New Version for 2024

Description:

Teams will be updating to 'New Teams' automatically January 18th, 2024.  You can update now if you like!
New Teams offers all the same features as Classic Teams but is faster and uses less computer resources.  For more details on what's new please refer to this Microsoft Article.
TIP=> Old Teams is now called 'Microsoft Teams Classic'

Instructions to update on campus pc:

1. On the top left of Classic Teams click Try the new Teams slider
2. If you are unable to click on the slider please try launching New Teams from the shortcut on your desktop
3. If you do not see New Teams on your desktop, search for Software Center (in search glass by Start button)
4. You can install New Teams within software center and it will create a shortcut on your desktop
5. After clicking on the shortcut for New Teams you may have to click Switch to New Teams

Instructions to install on personal pc:

1. Login to you Delhi email in a web browser
2. Click the Waffle (top left). 
3. Click Teams (This will direct you to the web version of Teams​​​​​​)
4. Click 3 dots in the upper right
   
5. Click Download the desktop app'​​​​​
6. Once the file is downloaded, open the file, run and follow the prompts to install.
7. Launch Teams program
8. Login with your SSO information (Full email address and password)

DO THIS TO MAKE YOUR EXPERIENCE BETTER:

1. Click 3 dots in the upper right
2. Click Settings
3. Click Appearance and accessibility
4. Under Layout > Click List
5. Under Files and links > File open preference
   1. Set Always open Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files in: to Browser
