SharePoint - Confluence - Options for Where/How to move pages to SP

Description:

How to convert Confluence pages to a SharePoint Page or Document and having these in SharePoint.

Information:

You will need an appropriate Team in Microsoft Teams set up before migrating a Confluence pageIf you need to request a new Team, click the Submit Request button

Step 1: In Confluence 

Option 1. Archiving information: Historical reference - information you won't change in the future

  1. Sign into Confluence
  2. Locate the page you want to migrate
  3. Click the three horizontal dots
  4. Choose the Export as PDF option

  5. Follow 'Step 2'

Option 2 - For working and updating information - Copy into SharePoint Document -Similar to File Shares

The Export to Word feature in Confluence does NOT function well and is NOT recommended.

  1. Option 1 (Save to your computer, then upload to SharePoint)
    1. Open a Word Document on your computer
    2. Copy and paste the information from the confluence page into the Word Document
    3. Follow 'Step 2' below for putting this document into SharePoint
  2. Option 2 (Save directly to SharePoint)
    1. Follow 'Step 2' #1-4 below for getting into the right SharePoint Folder
    2. Click New > Word Document
    3. Click Document in top left & Rename File
      click document
    4. Copy and paste the information from the confluence page into this Word Document

Step 2: In SharePoint

  1. Log into SharePoint
    • Access from your Webmail:
      • Click the Waffle Menu
      • Click SharePoint
  2. Open the appropriate Team for the document
  3. Click Documents
    SharePoint Documents tab
  4. Open the Folder to save the document in.
  5. Click Upload > Files
    OR Drag and drop the file into the red section.

Create Folders and Sub-folders:

Folders and Sub-folders help with organizing your documents. While in SharePoint Documents,

  1. Click +New
  2. Click Folder
    Add new folder in SharePoint
  3. Name the folder, and select a color
    SharePoint new folder name and color selection pop up
