Wireless Device Registration - Campus Devices

Description:

Devices such as tablets, iPads, etc purchased by departments or areas of campus can be added to the wireless network by CIS. To do so, we will need to know the device's: Model, including the generation and storage size, Wireless MAC Address, Serial Number.

NOTE==> This is NOT for personal device registration (see Related Articles for assistance with that).

Example:

  • Name: Department - Jane Doe
  • Model: iPad Air 2, 11"
    • Generation: 3rd Gen
    • Storage Size: 64GB
  • MAC Address: C4:C3:6B:53:5D:74
  • Serial Number: F66VCJFMXW

How to Request:

Click the Submit Request button.

  1. You MUST provide the MAC address.
    1. iDevices: To acquire this, you must get all the way through setup steps - which means getting through the wireless portion.  Folks most often use a personal hotspot to connect to for getting past this. 
      1. Once you're at the main screen, open Settings > click Wi-Fi.
      2. Next to Delhi-GUEST, tap the i
      3. Tap slider to turn Private Address OFF (it should NOT be green).
      4. Under the Wi-Fi settings, you will find the MAC Address listed. It is usually labeled as Wi-Fi Address or Physical Address
  2. BEFORE SUBMITTING: You MUST try to connect to Delhi-GUEST or Delhi-Secure for your device to 'say hi' to our network. You won't connect successfully yet, but this must be completed for us to see the device to add it in the system.
