Jabber - Clear Cache

Description:

Jabber uses the local cache of contacts to identify callers, and when a number is re-issued to a new person, Jabber continues to display the name associated with the old person from the cache file.  Follow these instructions if you are not seeing the correct name in Jabber.

Information:

In order to correct the issue, the cache file needs to be deleted. It is ls stored in a folder called "Jabber" which can be found in C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Cisco\Unified Communications\

To remove the file:

  1. Exit Jabber
  2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Cisco\Unified Communications\ (replace <user> with usernmae, ex doejd)
    1. Note, you may need to enable 'view hidden items' if you don't see the folder (see below)
  3. Delete the "Jabber" folder in the above location 
  4. Open Jabber
  5. Test the contact name by placing a call to the ext that showed incorrectly


If you need to enable view hidden items - In the same window, click View > Show > Hidden Items
