Shared Drive - Opening and Pinning to Quick Access

This article will explain how you can access a network share drive (file share) and how to pin it to your file explorer or finder for simpler future navigation. 

Instructions:

Windows

  1. Start by right clicking the start button and choosing File Explorer, or by selecting the manila envelope in your task bar.

  1. Type the following in the address bar  \\delhi.edu\share\  and press enter.

  1. Scroll to locate your desired folder, right click it and choose Pin current folder to Quick Access

  1. You will now see your Network Drive listed with your other pinned items.

Mac

  1. Open Finder.  Then In the upper left select Go and Connect to Server

  1. Enter SMB://delhi.edu/share/ then the name of the share.  Click Connect

  1. Last click on File and click Add to Sidebar to add as a shortcut to Finder
