MFA - Setting up the Microsoft Authenticator App

Description:

The Microsoft Authenticator app can be used as a quick and secure method of MFA verification. 
You will need both your phone/device AND a computer/tablet for the setup.

TIP=> New phone but same phone number? Follow these steps to reconnect to your account. (If your mobile number is setup for MFA, use that option to get into your account first, then start at Part 1)

Instructions:

Part 1. On Computer or other device:

  1. Be signed into your email
  2. Go to http://aka.ms/mfasetup
  3. Click Add sign-in method

  1. Choose Authenticator App
  2. Follow instructions on the screen
  3. When the QR code appears on your screen, stop and continue to Part 2.

Part 2. On your Phone (or device using for Authenticating)

  1. Install the Microsoft Authenticator app from Google Play Store or the Apple Store 
    • The app icon is a blue lock with a person icon inside: Microsoft Authenticator App icon
  2. Open the App
  3. Tap the in the top right corner
  4. Choose Work or School account
  5. Select Scan QR Code
  6. Use your phone to scan the QR code displayed on your computer
  7. Follow the remaining prompts on both devices to complete setup and link the app to your Delhi email account
