AV - Projection Troubleshooting

Description:

Occasionally, when a professor or guest is attempting to project their laptop, it will not work. These troubleshooting steps should be tried in order, as the further down the list you go, the more time consuming they will be.

Information:

  1. Windows key + P
    1. Choose Duplicate (copy of screen to projection)
      The project screen on windows with the "duplicate" option selected and highlighted.
  2. Reboot Laptop
    1. Attempt Step 1 again after reboot doesn't resolve.
  3. Flip red switch
    1. On the AV rack under or around the desk: Locate the lit up, red switch & push the switch off and on again to reboot systems in the room. The restart may take a number of minutes to complete.
    2. Note about touchpanel: During reboot, the touchpanel may show a message saying to contact the Help Desk. This is a normal part of the process and may take a number of minutes to go away.
